Research indicates that the ‘black box’ software packages often used to analyse tooth wear may produce erroneous results. A custom software package, called WearCompare, has been developed to allow researchers to select the unchanged aspects of a digital scan, and selectively align scan data to these areas. Work developed in collaboration with Saoirse O’Toole at Kings College London.
